“It is very comfortable and quite easy to play a melody and then start improvising in our instruments based on the structure and style of the composition one after the other. We have done this so many times in the past. But to serve the same melody as one instrument – specifically if the two instruments recording are the piano and the oud – involves a common vision and a common perception for the role of music. We have developed that common perception not only by performing together for so many years, but also by being close friends.”
